Artist Tom Wilkes originally designed and drew this piece for the All Things Must Pass album. It was intended as a poster for the album but George decided against using it, feeling that it portrayed him as a deity. Two of the Barry Feinstein photos in the poster were used for the singles of ‘My Sweet Lord’ and 'What is Life’ and also made an appearance in the videos for ‘Run of the Mill (Take 36)’ and ‘Cosmic Empire (Day 2 Demo)’ from the All Things Must Pass 50th Anniversary. We’re using a classic and vintage metal shaper to cut down the 1” shank on a new Walter stick tool. Two passes at .050” and it’s done. For all of the metal shaper fans! Machining the chin on the Hardtail vise using our G&E shaper. The tool stick out isn’t exactly ideal but we’re only taking a few light cuts with a .010” cleanup cut to finish it. This is another example of how versatile a shaper can be although this could be done in other machines as well. I wanted to get the chin machined on the shaper then rotate it 180° and begin the internal shaping to fit the dynamic jaw. Fun job and learning along the way too. #abom79 #sha
